Tokyo's Super Mario Christmas decorations are impressive.
Marunouchi is celebrating Christmas 2024 with a Super Mario-themed event featuring art displays, a giant illumination, and themed merchandise.
We hit up the powered-up Marunouchi to soak in some serious Nintendo-themed Christmas cheer. Think about it: Mario is pretty much second only to Santa on kids’ wish lists for decades. This Christmas, he’s spreading even more joy at the Marunouchi Bright Holiday 2024 ~Let’s Play in Marunouchi with Super Mario~ event. Or, let’s just call it the Super Mario Marunouchi Christmas for short.
This year, Marunouchi is decked out like never before with stunning Christmas lights and Nintendo art displays. The main attraction? A massive 13-meter Super Mario Power-up Illumination that features Mario, Luigi, Peach, and others in action, complete with rousing tunes. There are also pop-up shops and all sorts of merchandise that you won’t find anywhere else! If you stroll around, you can catch Luigi with his vacuum, a bunch of colorful Yoshis, and even themed photo spots. And don’t stress if you can’t make it by December 25—this holiday fun runs until January 13!
