Tokyo's museum hotel features a miniature art exhibit that creates a sense of smallness.
Meguro Gajoen's Hundred Steps staircase displays a miniature art exhibition alongside traditional hina doll displays until March 9.

Located in Tokyo’s Meguro district, the Hotel Gajoen Tokyo is not just a hotel; it’s a museum of Japanese beauty. The Hyakudan Kaidan, or "Hundred Steps," is the main attraction, showcasing an opulent staircase and hallway preserved since its 1931 opening. Right now, it’s hosting the A Miniature World x Hyakudan Kaidan exhibition, featuring detailed dioramas and incredible tiny recreations, from modern Tokyo streets to a stunning 18th-century British dollhouse.
But what steals the show? The Alice in “Wa”nderland section, where you’ll see Alice exploring a Japanese-style Wonderland. Plus, the staircase is celebrating Hinamatsuri with over 1,000 hina dolls displayed. This magical experience runs until March 9, daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with adult tickets at 1,600 yen. Don’t miss it!
