Starbucks Ginza House opens in Japan, offering exclusive matcha drinks.
Starbucks opens its 2,000th store in Japan, returning to Tokyo's Ginza, featuring unique tea experiences and exclusive products.

Starbucks is going back to its roots with the opening of its 2,000th store in Japan—right in Ginza, Tokyo, where it all started on August 2, 1996. This new spot, the Starbucks Teavana Store Ginza Marronnier Street, opens on February 17 and promises a wider range of tea experiences to celebrate nearly 30 years of growth across the country.
This location will be part of the “Starbucks Ginza House”, featuring three floors of unique offerings. The first two floors host a Starbucks Reserve with rare coffees and bakery delights, while the Teavana store on the basement level showcases Japanese tea culture with a bar-style counter and fresh grinding of green tea. Plus, they’re rolling out five exclusive “Ginza” products, like the Ginza Double Tall Caramel Macchiato and the Ginza Stone Ground Matcha Mousse Tea & Strawberry. If you want that upscale Starbucks vibe, head to Ginza House—you won’t be disappointed.
