Snow-covered mountain in Japan hosts hide-and-seek game for 100 players.
Shakotan will host a winter outdoor hide-and-seek game for all ages on February 23, despite freezing temperatures.

Welcome to Shakotan, the icy heart of Hokkaido, where temperatures this February are dropping to an exhilarating -10°C. This small town’s got a big event coming up—the Hide-and-Seek in the Snow 2025, with over 100 participants ready to brave the chill. Forget indoor facilities; this game will be played in the stunning snowy backdrop of JT no Mori Shakotan nature preserve, because why not take hide-and-seek to the next level?
On February 23, when it’s colder than some people's hearts, players aged 6 and up will have to dress warm and dodge trained seekers from Japan's Hide and Seek World Champs, Antarctic researchers, and even Self-Defense Forces rangers. Hiders aim to get back to the base in three minutes without being spotted, keeping the tension high. Tickets are a steal at ¥3,000 for adults and ¥1,500 for kids, plus there's overnight packages with all the cozy, hot-spring vibes you need after a day of hiding. Game on!
