Listen up! Shizuoka Prefecture is crushing it with the longest healthy life expectancy for both men and women at 73.75 and 76.68 years, respectively. Meanwhile, Iwate Prefecture is at the bottom of the barrel, with men at 70.93 and women at 74.28 years. The health ministry drops these numbers every three years, based on a deep dive into living conditions. The latest is the fifth edition, and let me tell you, things are changing out there.

Nationwide, the average healthy life expectancy for men dipped slightly to 72.57 years while women's went up a tad to 75.45 years. Life expectancy is at 81.05 for men and 87.09 for women, but the gaps are narrowing. The difference in healthy life expectancy between the top and bottom prefectures for men grew slightly to 2.82 years, but for women, it shrank to 2.40 years. It's a wild game of numbers, but Shizuoka is clearly the MVP!
