Rakuten's Tokyo robot delivery service meets some expectations while falling short in others, but is still charming.
Rakuten has launched robot coffee deliveries in Tokyo, offering a unique and convenient service, though humans accompany the robots for now.

So, check this out! Rakuten is kicking it up a notch in Japan with their new delivery robots. Starting last summer, they began rolling these bad boys out in areas like Tokyo's Harumi. Our guy, Mr. Sato, was curious and decided to grab a hot coffee from a Starbucks using the Rakuten app. He faced the cold winds by the Olympic village, and his cravings pushed him to try the robot delivery service.
After placing his order, he watched the robot make its way to him in real time. When it finally arrived, he entered a code to open the lid, and voila! His coffee was magically there: hot and intact. Now, despite having a smoother delivery, there was a human staff member with the robot for safety. So, while the robots are on the move, it seems Rakuten’s ready to take things solo once they iron out the kinks. That’s the future of coffee delivery for ya!
