One Piece contest in Japan seeks ripped anime fans to dress and pose as Luffy.
One Piece Fitness BragMen in Tokyo is hosting a bodybuilding contest inspired by the anime, focusing on Luffy’s physique and aesthetics.

Look, Luffy might be aiming to be the king of the pirates, but what about the king of the bodybuilders? The “One Piece gym” in Tokyo’s Shibuya isn’t just another event; it’s a permanent, full-time fitness haven that’s been serving up anime and workout magic since its opening in 2023. They just hit the two-year mark and are now rolling out the One Piece Body Make Contest Presented by BragMen, where contestants can “Strive for Luffy’s built-up body.”
Participants gotta rock denim shorts and a straw hat like Luffy, and they’ll be judged on “One Piece elements” like posing and understanding the series, as well as traditional bodybuilding criteria like muscle tone and that all-important smile. Submissions require six photos, including a front view, back view, and all sorts of Luffy-inspired poses. If you want a shot at being crowned the bodybuilding pirate king, get those applications in by April 30 and get ready for the showdown in Kawasaki on June 1!
