Lost in Translation

A study in Kyoto has uncovered nearly 500 translation errors aimed at foreign tourists, prompting the release of new guidelines. These revisions aim to enhance the experience of international visitors and ensure accurate communication. 🌍

Between December and February, the Kyoto City Tourism Association investigated non-Japanese signs, written notices, and audio announcements at 50 locations within the city, including train stations, hotels, restaurants, museums, temples, and shrines.

Out of roughly 3,600 items examined, many were found to be incorrectly or inaccurately translated. 🈲🔄
