Japanese school installs standing sleeping pod for student naps.
A Japanese elementary school has installed standing nap pods, but many believe this approach to sleep is impractical for children.
So, get this. An elementary school in Japan has set up a “stand and sleep” pod for kids to catch some Zs during the day. Yeah, you heard that right! It's all part of their health curriculum, which is supposed to promote the importance of sleep. But instead of cozy beds, these kids have to use a booth just big enough to lean against. Sounds a bit suspicious, right?
People online are not holding back their opinions. Some are saying things like, “You started with ‘Sleep is important,’ and THIS is your solution?” and it kinda makes you think. I mean, shouldn’t we be promoting actual napping instead of trying to force kids to sleep standing up? There's definitely a funny side to this, but it’s a little concerning when even kids are sneaking in naps under their desks instead of using these awkward pods. At the end of the day, it might be better to just create more time for naps in a way that actually makes sense!
