Yo, listen up! Japanese companies kicked off job seminars for grad students of spring 2026. With serious labor shortages, companies are hustling to secure talent and even raising starting salaries to get the best. This weekend, around 160 companies showed up at a job fair in Chiba, organized by Mynavi.
One student from Seitoku University said they’re on the hunt for a publisher that focuses on digital stuff. Meanwhile, a Nihon University student’s already got three informal job offers but plans to keep searching for that stable, well-known company. A Mynavi survey revealed that 78.1% of companies feel it's getting tougher to find workers. And guess what? 54.1% are planning to boost starting salaries for 2026 grads—up from last year! It’s a whole new game; companies are switching from just picking students to engaging with a smaller but more motivated crowd.
