Japan to issue cease-and-desist order against Google

Japan’s Fair Trade Commission is set to hit Google with a cease-and-desist order for breaking anti-monopoly laws. They claim Google forced smartphone makers using Android to pre-install its search and Chrome apps in exchange for allowing custom app stores. Google also allegedly paid phone makers ad revenue shares on the condition they avoided rival search apps. This will be the first U.S. tech giant to face such action in Japan. The FTC notified Google and will make a final call after hearing their side.#
