The government plans to allow foreign workers in home care, restaurants, and manufacturing to address labor shortages this spring.

The government just dropped a plan allowing foreign nationals to jump into home care services under the skilled worker program. This is all about tackling those crazy labor shortages we’ve been facing.
They’re also looking to make it easier for more foreigners to work in the restaurant industry and in manufacturing. This was all laid out at the first meeting of a Justice Ministry panel that’s busy revising our foreign worker programs. The goal is to tweak operational guidelines by this spring.
