Japan's Finance Minister Katsunobu Kato is on high alert about the fallout from U.S. President Donald Trump’s new tariffs on the yen. He told Fuji Television that they need to monitor how the exchange rate and other factors might shift, stressing how critical it is right now.

Kato's concerns are mounting as countries and companies gear up for the ripple effects of Trump’s tariff war, which includes hefty levies of 25% on Canada and Mexico and 10% on China. With the tariffs kicking in on Tuesday, the clock is ticking to see if there’s any chance for a deal before it all goes down.
