So I recently hit the ski slopes in Niigata, right? And let me tell you, it hit me hard how ready Japan is for those 40 million visitors expected in 2025. I’m dodging gigantic suitcases on the shinkansen, watching hotel staff go into overdrive, and buses are stuck forever because tourists can't figure out how to pay. It's the small stuff stacking up in a nation that's now a prime tourist hotspot.

Having lived in Shibuya for almost 15 years, I can see the changes up close and personal. Tourists are crowding out my favorite spots, letting their kids run wild like it's a playground—something no Japanese parent would stand for. Not to mention the folks stopping in the middle of the famed Scramble Crossing for selfies—completely blocking the flow of half a million people a day. It's the wild west out there!
