Fuji TV just dropped some serious news that they're looking at a ¥23.3 billion hit in their advertising revenue for fiscal 2024, that’s about $151.2 million less than they thought. Why? Well, a lot of companies backed out of their commercials after that scandal with former pop star Masahiro Nakai. Talk about a major buzzkill!
Now they're projecting their ad revenue to be around ¥125.2 billion by March, and guess what? They’re expecting to go into the red! To top it off, their parent company, Fuji Media Holdings, had to lower their earnings forecasts too. And the real kicker? They just decided not to charge advertisers for those commercials they pulled. Wow, that’s a big move!
