So, check this out. Shukan Bunshun published a story that stirred up some serious drama about TV star Masahiro Nakai and a woman. They knew their reporting had some errors right after the Dec. 26 issue dropped but decided to stay quiet until former Osaka Gov Toru Hashimoto called them out on it. Talk about waiting for the heat to rise!
Finally, they had to own up to it. The editor-in-chief put out an editorial apologizing for the mix-up and clarified that the woman was actually invited by Nakai, not a Fuji TV exec. They even added a correction note online, responding directly to Hashimoto's claim that it was “dishonest to overwrite an error so casually.” You know what they say, you gotta admit when you're wrong, right?
