Cedar pollen was reported in Tokyo on January 8, the earliest since 1985, prompting officials to advise on hay fever prevention.

Cedar pollen showed up in Tokyo on Jan. 8, hitting months earlier than last year and making it the earliest ever since records started in 1985. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government got the word out on Friday.
Now, they're telling folks to get ready and fight against those pesky hay fever symptoms because pollen counts are about to get wild in the weeks ahead.
