Another Japanese city plans to install a life-sized Gundam robot.
Shizuoka will likely get a life-sized Gundam statue alongside a new Gunpla factory to attract more tourists.

If your town is getting a new Gunpla factory, it only makes sense to add a full-size Gundam statue, right? This is all happening because a new Gunpla factory is set to open in the summer, attracting attention from fans all around due to its tours and a specialty Gundam Base store; but the real showstopper will be that massive statue!
Currently, Japan has three life-size Gundam statues. The plans for Shizuoka are still being finalized, but city council members are pumped—especially considering the tourism success from a temporary statue earlier that drew over 1.6 million visitors. With such high stakes, there’s a good chance Shizuoka will add a brand-new Gundam and become home to Japan’s fourth life-sized mobile suit.
