Amazon Japan enters 'furusato nōzei' market.

Amazon Japan is diving into the furusato nōzei hometown donation game! They're teaming up with around 1,000 municipalities and offering about 300,000 gifts in return for donations on a new website. What sets them apart? Their nationwide distribution network allows them to deliver gifts as fast as one day after the donation.

Jasper Cheung, the head honcho at Amazon Japan, said they want to make donating feel special and unique. In fiscal 2023, the donations under this system topped a whopping ¥1 trillion. It's a hot market now, with everyone from airlines to tech companies trying to cash in on that fee income!
