2000th Starbucks opens in Japan.
Japan's 2000th Starbucks, opening February 17, 2025, will feature matcha drinks and Japanese tea culture in Ginza.

Japan got its first Starbucks in Ginza back in August 1996, and now, they're about to drop their 2000th store right back in the same neighborhood on February 17, 2025. The new Starbucks Teavana Store Ginza Marronnier Street is all about celebrating Japanese tea culture, featuring the GINZA Stone-ground Matcha Tea Latte and the infamous GINZA Stone-ground Matcha Frappuccino® made with premium Uji matcha. Plus, if you're lucky, you might snag their special GINZA Stone Mill Matcha Mousse Tea & Strawberry dessert drink, crafted fresh each day!
The vibe of this store is gonna be next level with an actual stone mill for that fresh matcha grinding experience! The design is cozy and inviting, using various materials and textures to create an atmosphere you won't want to leave. They’ll have TEAVANA™ teas brewed just for you, with flavors like Peach Tranquility and Strawberry Mint Oolong, hot or iced, served from 7 am to 10 pm. So get ready to sip in style, just two minutes from Ginza-Itchome Station!
