The local weather bureau said it was the coldest air this winter up in that northern snow belt. This was the 35th annual Koide International Snowball Fight—the biggest of its kind in Japan!

Teams of five went head-to-head in two-minute matches on a court the size of a tennis court. Points were scored for direct hits—basically, it was all about dodging and launching those snowy missiles! Can you imagine the chaos?
