In January, 195 food and beverage companies will increase prices on 1,380 products, primarily bread, due to rising costs.
Get ready for a price explosion! 195 major food and beverage companies are planning to raise prices on a whopping 1,380 products this January. This is all due to skyrocketing logistics and labor costs. Bread is taking center stage, with Yamazaki Baking hiking prices on 290 items by an average of 5.6%, targeting fan favorites like Royal Bread sliced bread and sweet red bean buns.
Not to be left out, Pasco Shikishima is set to increase their flagship Chojuku sliced bread and 234 other products by 1% to 5%. All in all, consumers can expect price hikes on 6,121 items between January and April. And if this keeps up, we could see 15,000 to 20,000 food and beverage products getting pricier throughout 2025. They're not playing around!
